Kalachakra site at Amaravathi

It is not very far from the ancient stupa site. Buddhist rituals were performed by

Dalai lama here four/five years back. Still under construction All structures are made up of reinforced concrete and mortar. All photographs taken by me on 22-03-2015

Another new addition to Amaravathi is a new museum maintained by state government, Tousism department. Well made fibreglass replicas of Amaravathi Buddhist sculptures from various museums and also original limestone sculptures are displayed. It is called " Amaravathi sculpture- Information centre" or locals call it as "tourist guest house". Photography is allowed in the new museum whereas ASI Museum prohibits.There is scanty water in the river.
